I-STARS PROJECT LAUNCHES A VIRTUAL LIBRARY GATHERING SUSTAINABLE TOURISM RESOURCES TAILORED FOR ISLAND COMMUNITIES

The I-STARS partners are pleased to launch the I-STARS Virtual Library, a free and practical online tool to all interested in sustainable tourism and islands.

The Virtual Library is an online space designed to be a transnational cross-sectoral knowledge hub addressed mainly to the island tourism business community. It aims to support destination managers, SMEs, regional/national policymakers & other stakeholders to understand and embrace the long-term benefits of the transition to more sustainable business models in the tourism sectors.

With a focus on island economies and various tourism sectors, the library gathers resources and materials on:

• Sustainable tourism principles and concepts
• EU policies and initiatives
• Sustainable Best practices
• Information on certification schemes and training opportunities
• Grants and EU funding opportunities for supporting tourism SMEs green transition.

By browsing the virtual library, users will be able to easily access the best resources selected by I-STARS tourism experts. The users experience is also facilitated by the possibility of selecting resources through the use of dedicated filters that allow content to be searched by file type, category or by keywords.
